2018 is rapidly coming to a close. How was it for you?
I’ll tell you how my year was…. Mixed. There were some significant jumps forward and achievements in sport, health and coaching. There were also some big set backs which over months took their toll on my optimism and confidence. As I reach the end of the year the tough times are becoming more distant as I’m shifting my focus to what I learned from them. Everything has contributed to the me that stands here today, and I’ve evolved, in a good way. I’ve grown far more than I realise…. And to realise I have to dedicate some time to reflect.
For me this is an annual ritual where I review the year, recalibrate my experiences, identify the learnings and shifts in my beliefs and values, working out what I want to leave behind or take forward into the new year, informing my refreshed focus and goals. The experience is cathartic, cleansing and celebratory.
